Feels like everything is slowly getting back to normal - in the UK at least. You are now able to remove your face masks for school lessons, but we'll probably all still be wearing them for at least another few months on public transport and some indoor settings. Before it ends we'd like you to shoot a self portrait and possibly some portraits of friends and family in their masks
Portrait Location - Light - Subject - Camera Mode
Portrait Mode in Portrait Mode the camera automatically selects a wide aperture to produce a blurry background. It gives you single shot auto-focus, and also enhances skin tones It's a good choice in decent light but if you shoot in low light the camera will automatically turn on the flash - and that is not what you need. Low light postraits should be done in Shutter Piority with an ISO of 400 and a Shutter no slower than 1/60th sec. 1/160th upwards is best
Portrait tips Eyeline - important for all portrait photography. Getting to the eyeline of the subject Background - photographers talk about a "clean background" - nothing to distract the eye. Light - avoid direct sunlight (squinty eyes etc) Bright shade or even against the light. Use the Zoom Wideangles for events and zooming in for portraits. Wide shots are not usually the most flattering for portrait pictures
Reportage street pictures - be sensitive if you you shoot un-posed images like this...
