Inside Normansfield's gloomy nighttime theatre. High ISO and Shutter Priority at 1/60th sec are needed to make the images work. A loss of some quality inevitable with High ISO. Images stitched into Stop-Motion on Gifmaker.me - which allows you output to Video as well as GIF.

Technique
Camera Shutter Priority 125th Sec ISO 400. Keep very still.
Light LED light boxes or off-camera flash. A household lamp will work almost as well - but colour temperature may need to be adjusted on the camera or afterwards in ps.
Backdrop Black cloth/velvet or craft acrylic/card
Squirty water bottle
Led lights are brilliant - get them as close to the subject as possible. To improve quality a tripod would allow lower ISO and greater depth of field - but 400 ISO is fine quality-wise and it's probably better to work handheld.

Guinness World Record: Young photographers in a Phonebox ( 9 )
In lots of ways the quietest excursions we've ever had but also very good for pictures on a weekend of decent weather at last. Really pleased as well that despite having evolved into part human - part social media - part game playing beasts - with iphones for hands and headphones where ears used to be - the young people were still charmed by Chris P Lettis Greengrocers, Ivan Huven's bakery and any number of country churches full of ruddy faced Sunday worshipers. " That's a church !! " I overheard at one point. " Yes and those men in dresses are called choristers !" Worshipers praising the Lord before scuttling across the Green to get padded up for the visit of Little Malmsy
Actually that's nonsense - of course they all know what a church looks like. Most of them have probably even been in one at some point. And we are very lucky to live in a part of the country that still bears a strong resemblance to the gentle bucolic joys of the 1937 village streets and green pastures of Bekonscot. Several students were missing because of Cricketing and Rowing commitments for goodness sake - and that's as it should be and as it would have been for the Bekonscot Photographic Society of 1932. There was even a Hanton Court Maze - to remind us of home

plural noun: silhouettes
noun
plural noun: silhouettes
- 1.the dark shape and outline of someone or something visible in restricted light against a brighter background."she paused to see its silhouette against the dimming sky"
synonyms:outline, contour(s), profile, delineation, form, shape, figure, shadow, features, lines, curves, configuration
"the silhouette of St Peter's is dominated by Michelangelo's dome- verb
Making Silhouettes with Flash The "dark shape" in this case is provided by our students standing 5 or 6 ft in front of the "brighter background" - which is a white wall lit with a single flashgun mounted on a tripod and fired with a remote trigger. Manual mode for both camera and flash. Camera at 1/160 sec F8 Flash at 1/8th or 1/4 power.
Flash placed directly behind students and creating a small pool of very bright light- vignetting to darkness at the edges of the frame. .
Outdoor Silhouettes 2 key things to remember: firstly to choose a low viewpoint and place the subject against the brightest part of the sky. Next to expose for the sky which will under-exposes the subject and create the silhouette. Shoot in any mode you like but if using Program, Shutter or Aperture Priority you can use Exposure Compensation to make the effect more dramatic.

Using tripods when possible - more often shooting by hand and enjoying the surreal effects of deliberately de-focused Bokeh. Manual mode - high ISO - as slow a shutter as you can hold (around 1/30th or 1/15th braced against a lampost) and Aperture wide open. On the tripod the ISO comes down to 200 the Aperture closes to F16 and and shutter speed slows to 4 or 5 seconds
