As summertime arrives - so do the flying and crawling creatures. Get close - get even closer. Check focus. Using your phone might be easier and will let you focus closer than a standard camera lens. If you bought the clip-on macro lens set this is a great time to use it.
Walking through a cobweb is a creepy and unpleasant experience but imagine how it would feel if you were the spider. Enjoying an afternoon snooze after a morning of wrapping and spinning - when an enormous hairy face pushes through your living room
You can aslo shoot video - here's a spider busy fixing his web outside our kitchen window
I'm not sure what kind of beetle this is. I sent the PC to ask a few questions but he came back babbling and after a cup of tea I sent him home. The lefthand pic is shot on an iphone and the other on my Canon SD Mk2
It's been quite a week at Number 50. After the beetle on the decking incident - yesterday I was disturbed by Mrs H screaming in the bathroom. She found this little chap in our airing cupboard. We've had a little colony of bats living in the flat roof above the bathroom. They visit in the summer months but don't stay long. they do no damage and are a protected species. this fellow came through a hole in the ceiling - which i've now sealed up. Their usual escape is through another hole under the gutter.
