The process of becoming a photographer starts with the simple act of picking up a camera or phone and going out to make pictures. Every great photographer starts his day like this and almost every great photograph began with this simple act.
Remote students will need to be self motiviated, following the lessons themselves, making time each week for the hour required by DofE. Collecting your weekly images in a dedicated folder and sending half in the middle of the course - and the rest at the end.
Weekly Tutorials The requirement is that students work at their skill for an hour each week. The amount of spare time you have will fluctuate of course - as you are busy with other things. Sometimes the topic will really inspire them and they'll shoot lots of pics - and other weeks it might not grab you at all. Hopefully the lessons will be fun and stimulating. We will also add extra optional lessons - usually related to the seasons and these can take the place of or supplement their other work.
Sending images We'd like to see the first 6 sets of images after week 6 - to check everything is going well. We'll give feedback on these images. PLEASE REMEMBER TO ADD YOUR NAME AND DOFE WHEN YOU SEND IMAGES. https://clickphotographyworkshops.wetransfer.com/ |
ZOOM students will follow the same course structure with 3 face to face zoom sessions. We will organise these at a convenient time on the weekend, usuallty Saturday mornings but if sports or other commitments get in the way, we might meet later on Saturday or Sunday morning or even in the early evening after school on Thursday or Friday .
Weekly Tutorials In the weeks between Zooms we will send the weekly tutorial on Saturday morning along with explanatory notes and feedback on images submitted. The requirement is that students work at their skill for an hour each week. The amount of spare time you have will fluctuate of course - as you are busy with other things - and we do not expect to see images every week. Sometimes the topic will really inspire them and they'll shoot lots of pics - and other weeks it might not grab them at all. Hopefully the lessons will be fun and stimulating. We will also send extra optional lessons - usually related to the seasons and these can take the place of or supplement their other work. We'd like to see 8-10 images per assignment (except for Alpha and Smartphone )
Student Access to the website Before the first lesson you will receive an email link asking you to create a username and password for the private student pages. This will allow access to the tutorials. the gallery pages and resources.
