Click Saturday mornings are for adult beginner and intermediate level photographers. Each session stands very happily on it's own but taken together they cover some of the key elements of Dslr photography and will help with your technical and creative understanding of the art. The first session on Saturday 5th May is a comprehensive introduction to technique and composition starting in the classroom and and then moving outside to practise at Kingston Bridge & Home Park. If you are a complete beginner and can only attend 1 session - this should be the one.
It's all about taking pictures however and we will not spend this course in a classroom. You will learn by shooting lots of pics and reviewing them with our tutors in person or online. Student work will be showcased in a gallery on our website and will be analysed at a free Friday evening session at the St John's Warehouse on Friday June 29th - we will also reveal our tips for taking great Holiday shots at this session.
Students You may have your own camera and want to learn how to use it properly, You might already be competent and want to push your skills to another level or you could be thinking of starting a new hobby. You might just be interested in the locations we're heading to and fancy a few hours doing something different on a Saturday morning.
Tutorials Each session will be supported with an online tutorial and we will begin each day with camera handling and a specific briefing for the challenges of the day. The programme has been built to include a wide range of photographic situations from Macro flowers to Street photography. We will discuss Shutter and Aperture Priority and set them appropriately and learn to adjust ISO for conditions.
Location Click is based in Hampton Wick. Warehouse sessions are at The Warehouse in Church Grove (close to Kingston Bridge)
Locations trips begin at Hampton Wick station but students can also join us at the location.
Cameras We have Canon 1300D cameras for students to use on this course and will supply macro lenses for Kew Gardens.
How we work We teach technique to free imagination. A little technique and understanding of composition will help you, but we won't make it more difficult than it needs to be. At the core of our philosophy is the simple imperative to get out and look at the world. TAKE PICTURES !!
