A project for a gloomy day. Still life photographers work in many different ways to record the beauty of flowers. They often use sophisticated equipment but you can also achieve fantastic results with just a table lamp. 

These peonies were photographed on the kitchen table. Keep the background simple. You can use dark material to achieve a more dramatic effect or rich velvet to add a feeling of luxury. 

Colour temperature changes with a table lamp. Your pictures will be much warmer when lit by a household bulb. You can correct this in your camera - by setting a tungsten white balance - or in post produxction if you use editing software. Or you can keep it warm
